Being a Half-Life, and most recently a Portal fan, I decided to create some game themed “corporate” mobile wallpapers for my new Nokia 6303 cell phone (and also to celebrate my first phone to have a display with colors!).
For late night study sessions (or weekend movies) in front of the computer I wanted some light that lets me see the keyboard and provides some ambient lighting without it shining directly into my eyes. I solved this problem by mounting a 8W T5 fluorescent tube lamp facing backwards towards the wall onto the keyboard tray.
My roommate’s server was a bit louder than what he wanted so he asked me to if I could help reducing the noise a bit. By far the loudest component being the constant speed PSU fan I decided also make the RPM adjustable so we can fine tune it to an optimum speed resulting in proper CFM and reduce noise levels.
